ABOUT

Details
I teach landscape architecture at Washington State University’s School of Design and Construction (SDC). In addition to teaching studio and construction classes, I have the privilege of teaching a foundational drawing class, which emphasizes drawing as a “thinking” tool for designers.

Through my teaching position, I also co-direct the SDC’s Rural Communities Design Initiative (RCDI), a University / Community Collaboration in which a group of interdisciplinary faculty and students seek to partner with rural communities throughout the Northwest to solve challenges faced by those communities through a process of community engagement and participatory design.
If you've navigated your way to this site you see that I also maintain a private practice in landscape architecture, Sánchez Design Group, LLC.

I have practiced landscape architecture for over twenty years and have been fortunate to work in offices in Berkeley and Santa Barbara, California as well as Eugene, Oregon and through my own firm. While at those offices I have participated in all aspects of design and in many different types of projects.
